Scientific research Extensive scientific research is conducted at the Hospital District of Southwest Finland. More than three hundred research project are active in the Hospital District’s hospitals, with a budget of approximately 11 million euros. About one third of the research relates to development of new medicines and two thirds are research, for instance contributing to diagnostics, care and treatments, as well as rehabilitation. The ethics committee in turn oversees the research conducted within the Hospital District. |
