These terms of use concern web pages on the Hospital District of Southwest Finland’s (henceforth HDSWF) server belonging to the HDSWF and affiliated hospitals, economic divisions as well as other corresponding units, teams, projects and the like. Chief of Communications is in charge of the HDSWF’s web pages as a whole. The units and their persons responsible for editing and maintenance answer for the unit specific content of their own web pages.
The HDSWF’s web pages are produced by a public authority and are freely useable to all internet users. Free use includes, in accordance with general practice, scrolling the web pages as well as printing and saving them for ordinary use with the restrictions below.
There are also web pages on the HDSWF’s server which are restricted as to their use (so called extranets). The restrictions for web pages may have been set, for instance, because their content is directed only to health care professionals. Confidential material and/or material containing patient information are not published even on the extranets. In order to gain access to the content – or partial content – of the extranets, one is required to log in. Logging in occurs either through supplying your username and password in the logging-on view or automatically through so-called IP recognition. The latter is mainly used in the HDSWF Info Bank (http://ohjepankki.vsshp.fi/en).
Copyrights
The HDSWF’s web pages and their content are protected in accordance with the Copyright Act and international agreements. Borrowing content from the web pages, as well as other use as decreed in the Copyright Act is allowed, provided that the source is mentioned. News and communications on the HDSWF’s web pages can be published elsewhere, provided that the source is mentioned.
All commercial use of material at the HDSWF’s web pages provides written consent from the HDSWF. Consent is requested with the following form and it should describe what material is desired and to what purpose it is intended to be used.
The validity of the content and functionality of the site
The HDSWF strives to keep the material on their web pages up to date and correct as well as to ensure the technical functionality of its internet services. Despite this there might be errors on the pages or there might be functional disturbances of the server. If errors pertaining to content or technical problems are encountered at the site, please report this with the following web form.
The HDSWF reserves the right to make such changes as it sees necessary in the content, function, lay-out and structure of its web pages without prior notice.
The traffic in the internet pages of the HDSWF is followed with the Google Analytics application. The application collects user and visitor statistics using cookie technology. The user-friendliness of the site is developed by means of the collected information.
Links
It is allowed to refer to the HDSWF’s web pages. This also applies to so called “deep links”, i.e. links to the subpages of the site and bookmarks to be added in the browser. The HDSWF does not, however, guarantee that the addresses of the linked pages will remain unchanged in the future or that the pages would not be removed from the server.
On the HDSWF’s web pages there are links referring to sites belonging to external instances. These links are intended to assist the visitors in finding such additional information as might possibly be of interest to them. The HDSWF does not take responsibility of the content of said sites belonging to external instances, to which it is referred to in the HDSWF’s own web pages. The HDSWF is also unable to guarantee the function of the links. Please report with the following web form of any non-functional links at the HDSWF’s web pages.
Instructions concerning medical treatment and similar material
At the HDSWF’s web pages (especially the HDSWF Info Bank), we publish instructions intended to support treatment, as well as information pertaining to health and disease, drafted by experts at the HDSWF. Such information or instructions do not, however, substitute the personal treatment or instructions given by the health care system to the patients. The HDSWF does not take responsibility for possible repercussions caused by independent action based on such information and instructions. The doctor tending the patient is always liable for the patient’s treatment.
In order to guarantee privacy protection, personal information or documents used in the treatment patients are not disclosed over the HDSWF’s web pages.
Forms
On the HDSWF’s web pages web forms are used for communication with the HDSWF. The uses of the forms are for instance giving feedback on the web pages or the HDSWF’s activities, sending queries to professionals within the health care system, registering to training or other events etc. Personal data collected with the forms are only used for such ends as described in connection with the form and the personal data are not disclosed to third parties.
NB! Normal e-mail technology is partially used in sending the forms and information is transmitted unencrypted using the internet connection. The HDSWF can thus not guarantee complete privacy protection as far as messages sent by forms are concerned. Please take note of this while drafting messages.
Interpretation of the terms of use
The terms of use for the HDSWF’s web pages are interpreted in accordance with Finnish law. If a user of the web pages notices breaching of Finnish law or good practice, please report this with the following form.
