Advanced special analytics, such as flow cytometry used in diagnosing and treating leukaemia, are performed in the division. Physicians employed in the haematological field of operation examine the morphology of blood and bone marrow and work as consultants of their own sector's clinical wards.
The stem cell laboratory, where stem cells collected from patients waiting to be transplanted are handled, examined and stored, is a part of the haematological laboratory.
