Our operation unit is constantly on duty, and we treat all adult patients from every surgical specialty, including heart, stomach, injury and neurosurgical patients.
Over half our patients are emergency patients, and the rest undergo scheduled operations. In addition to Southwest Finland, we admit patients from Satakunta, Vaasa Region and Åland.
Patients are admitted from Tyks surgical outpatient clinics, other outpatient clinics, joint regional emergency department and other hospitals by ambulance or helicopter.
Our emergency services include operations of all surgical specialties on adult patients. In addition, we perform neurosurgical operations on children.
A separate fee from operations is not collected, as the operative needs of the patients are included in the daily inpatient fee of the patient.
There are no visitations in our operation ward. Visitations happen only at the inpatient wards after the operation.
Our staff is responsible for the patient's anaesthetics, operation equipment, assisting the operating physician, the functionality of operation rooms and monitoring the patient's condition after the operation.
Our staff is also responsible for anaesthetics in T-hospital examination units (X-ray, magnetic imaging and arterial imaging)
Approximately 7 500 operations are performed yearly in our rooms. Approximately 1000 procedures are performed in our recovery rooms, such as cannula installations and local anaesthetics.
There are 14 modern operation rooms and a recovery room at the T-hospital operation ward. Angiographies can be made in one of the operation rooms during operation.
