Traumatic Brain Injury Outpatient Clinic

Doctor is talking to a patient. We assess and treat traumatic brain injuries and late effects of whiplash. These injuries can occur, for example, in traffic accidents, falling accidents, assaults, or work-related accidents.

Our patients are primarily admitted to follow-up from an inpatient ward or the emergency room after the initial trauma or by a doctor's referral.

The content and duration of treatment are very individual and can vary from one assessment visit to a long-term follow-up. Most long-term follow-ups are directed elsewhere.

A clinic fee is collected for a visit. Some examinations can be subject to a clinic fee, if they are not part of an outpatient visit.

Medical students may participate in outpatient visits during springtime. We conduct an extensive clinical research on brain injuries, and patients may be invited to participate in scientific research. Participation is always voluntary and it does not affect your right to receive normal treatment.

We aim to offer customised services for our patients, focusing on either rehabilitation or a more accurate diagnosis of the injury, depending on the situation. The treatment may include, amongst other things, medications and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation. Our extensive experience, resourceful collaboration network and the latest research methods in the field are at the patient's disposal.

Our competence in brain injury diagnostics and treatment is internationally recognised and we are a leading participant research centre in many international studies.
