We treat ear, nose and throat patients and paediatric day surgical patients. We operate in Tyks U-hospital.
The principle of day surgery is that the patient is admitted to a procedure in the morning and he/she is discharged on the same day. Patients can be transferred to follow-up care on other wards, if necessary.
The most common procedures of ear, nose and throat diseases are
- ventilation tube insertion in the ear
- tonsil operations
- nose operations
- maxillary sinus operations
- endoscopy procedures
- removal of moles and papulas
The most common procedures performed on children and adolescents are
- hernia operations
- testicular and foreskin operations
- surgical gastroscopy
We admit patients by a referral, after which a doctor will assess whether the procedure is done day surgically. A day surgical fee is collected from day surgical patients.
In order to make the treatment effective, it is important that the patient commits to self-care. The presence of parents in paediatric treatment is important.
We have a separate room with toys and videos for children. The patients have lockers for storing their clothes, for example. All rooms are equipped with a TV. Use of your own phone in the ward is permitted. The ward has a common coffee room for the next of kin and patients.
We perform approximately 1500 procedures a year.
